Prime Minister Project

Assigned: November 16th                                                  Due Date : December 6th

Research one of Canada’s prime ministers. Use a variety of sources to collect your information. Links from our classroom web page, our social studies textbook and library books are all excellent sources of information.

Your project will consist of a short presentation as well as a written report. Some class time will be given to work on this assignment. (3 -60 min periods) However, it will be necessary to work on this project at home or you may choose to use club 1210 during lunch recesses.

Project Guidelines

1. Written Report: Your written report should include facts about the personal and professional life of your chosen political figure. The specific required information is listed below. When writing your report it is important to use your own words.

Personal Life
Date of birth
Place of birth
Date of of death (if applicable)
Education
Personal background (family, account of interests, early jobs, important life experiences..etc)

Professional Life
Political party
Years/Date as prime minister
Three major events and /or accomplishments as Prime Minister

2. Presentation
Prepare a short presentation about your chosen political leader. The presentation should be approximately five minutes in length. You may wish to use dramatic techniques such as, a simulated interview with the “prime minister”, a fictional debate that conveys the information you’ve prepared or a song. Visual aids with important information could be used during the presentation. Be creative!
