House League

Throughout the year, students in grades 4 to 8 are encouraged to come out and participate in various House League sports. It is a terrific way to keep active, increase fitness, build skills, and have fun. On average, 80 percent of our students from grades 4 to 8 participate in house league activities. Thank you to Mr. Padbury for organizing and supervising house league activities. V

Our Intermediate students are currently involved in house league volleyball during the noon hour recess. Junior students are playing a modified volleyball game called Newcomb.

Track and Field

Our school Track and Field Day and Area Meet occur during the month of May.

Cross Country

Under the supervision of Mr. Padbury , our school Cross country team will participate in the Area meet here at Brigden Public School on October 18th . Each day during the noon recess team members are  working diligently to increase their endurance and speed. We wish them the best of luck at the meet.

Soccer

Once again the senior boys' soccer team had a very successful season. The boys demonstrated wonderful dedication, practicing  at lunch time. They placed third overall in the tournament. Each player represented the school as well as the community of Brigden in a very positive way demonstrating excellent sportsmanship at the one day tournament. Congratulations boys on an excellent tournament under the great coaching guidance of Mr. Dugas.

Under the direction of Ms. Evans and Mrs. Courtney, our Senior Girls' Soccer team worked hard to prepare for our area tournament and had a very successful day. The girls won two out of their first three games. They qualified to play Centennial School in the play-off game. It was a very close game and the team was defeated by only one goal. Despite the soaring temperatures, the girls worked very well together and demonstrated skill, determination, and sportsmanship. All games were extremely close which made for some exciting soccer. Most of all their coaches were very proud of the excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations on another successful soccer season!

Mr. Padbury is again coaching the Brigden Boys Basketball team. The girls’ team is being coached by a parent volunteer, Mr. Mazey. Games are all played at Lambton Centennial. Game times vary between 4:00 and 5:00. Both teams are working very hard. The Girls’ Team as well as the staff at Brigden want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Mazey for giving of his time and expertise to the gi rls. We are sorry that work will take you to Sudbury after this basketball season.
